Match Report - EBUFC U13 Greens

First league game first 3 points and a pretty solid performance against Framlingham. No Ed Sherran song references this week .. maybe a few!

The game sort of mirrored the last time we played them having got rid of our Bad Habits from previous games putting the game to bed with our outstanding finishing in the first half and then creating a myriad of opportunities in the second only not to add to our tally. Got to create them to miss them so no issue with the score line here.

We put them firmly on the back foot early on Alex racing clear from a through ball, second third and forth followed from Jules Alex and Tom after all round excellent work from Harry Luca Jules and Tom.

Defensively when Fram threatened we were equal, MOTM Joe a rock in defence and Toby a colossus in goal rarely troubled, even when peppered from long range he was equal to the task.

Our corner defending was an improvement on the last few games and we constantly caused Fram problems down the flanks with Harry and Tom’s pace. Harry having looked to have recovered well from his leg operation and who will definitely be a big asset to us this season having recently joined the squad.

Jules and Alex were a constant threat, you could say a Perfect Duet and only with our eagerness to get forward in midfield did we look like letting Fram in, something we need to work on when tougher challenges come along, midfield defensive responsibilities.

Having a good penalty shout in the first half and a good goal chalked off as offside, although it was tight, the score could have been higher.

The final words came from their disappointed linesman who queried our “interesting” style of play. Presumably he was referring to getting the ball into the danger areas using pace & control and defending to nil goals conceded, if so we’ll take that.

The Joker and the Queen sprang to mind (tenuous I know!)

A weeks a long time in football Coaches Newman and Garwood definitely had that After Glow post match.

Bury Town beat a fellow league one side 11-0 today. Promise last time I will mention them.
