A good game in a friendly against Kesgrave Kestrels Whites, who play in the league above, running out winners with a score line that probably didn’t reflect our dominance.

The home teams secret weapon was surely the pitch, an extremely difficult surface quite clearly overplayed and under loved.

Four from goal machine Alex had us clearly in the box seat by half time, with keeper Toby admiring the scenic view for most of the half.

The game gave us the opportunity to run rolling subs and play some in positions not the normal for them, which disrupted our rhythm a little bit however gave the boys valuable experiences and understanding of other roles within the team.

The game was sealed with an own goal after good pressure from Tom and Aston resulting in a defender unluckily scoring past his own keeper.

For the second week running Seb, Eoin and MOTM George were dominant in defence snuffing out pretty much all threats thrown at them.

Tom continued his excellent form down the right and it was good to see James and Oli getting game time after missing due to illness.

So our unbeaten run continues but as both Steve and I keep repeating the growth in confidence, consistency and positivity is much more pleasing, although it’s nice to win!!
