The 25/26 Season brings changes, with new additions to both teams and the coaching staff.
With the move from 5v5 to 7v7 football this season, the team has taken an exciting step forward in their development. To make sure we’re ready for the new format, we’ve recruited new players over the summer and grown the squad size. This means we’ll have the depth needed to compete in matches, give everyone plenty of game time, and continue building a strong, supportive team spirit both on and off the pitch.
East Bergholt Under 9's – team(s) full of energy, smiles, and plenty of muddy boots! These young footballers never shy away from a challenge, whether it’s scoring goals, pulling off cheeky tricks, or celebrating like their heroes.
Training sessions are focused on enjoyment, building confidence with the ball, and understanding the importance of working together as a team.
Whilst matches are all about teamwork, encouragement, and giving it their all. With supportive coaches on the sidelines and parents cheering them on, the Under 9's are not just learning football skills – they’re making friends, building confidence, and creating brilliant memories together.
One thing’s for sure: win, lose, or draw, the East Bergholt Under 9's always play with heart and a big smile!
We’re delighted to welcome Gavin Bailey back to East Bergholt Football Club after a year away. Gavin brings with him over 10 years of experience in grassroots youth football and has been part of the club since its very beginning. His passion for developing young players and creating a positive, fun environment has always been at the heart of his coaching. Now returning to continue that journey, Gavin is excited to help the next generation of East Bergholt players grow their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
We’re pleased to have Matty Hayward working with the Under 9's this season. Matty brings many years of playing experience and a real passion for grassroots football. He shares the same ethos as Gavin. His energy and knowledge make him a fantastic addition to the coaching team.
Now heading into his second year, Tony will be leading the Greens team this season. He’ll be supported by the United coaches when needed, ensuring both squads continue to develop and enjoy their football together.
Both teams ( United & Greens ) will be playing their games on Saturday mornings in the Suffolk Youth Football League.
The future is bright, the future is Green
